Microsoft wanted to honor winners of their Global Partner Awards with video features on each category winner. We broke the mold of typical awards videos with a fast-paced, fun approach that brought to life the personality and spirit of the winning companies. Little did we know that after flying to London, Rotterdam, Melbourne and San Francisco, the entire in-person event—with attendees from around the world—would be converted to a virtual event because of the global pandemic. In addition to the five winner videos, in the space of one week we filmed an additional 40 minutes of presentations, created new graphics packages and edited the entire thing together. The work allowed the now-digital gathering to come off with the polish expected from a Microsoft event.
Typically attracting 350 in-person attendees, the virtual event attracted nearly 1,000, a testament to the hard work of the Microsoft team to pivot quickly and focus on creating a valuable client event in record time. Feedback from participants and stakeholders, through email and on social media, was universally positive, with the client citing “unprecedented demand” for the content after the event.
